Chronicles Of Depression 2.0: #239: Dubya

Excerpts from his address last night:
Major financial institutions have teetered on the edge of collapse, and some have failed.

And:
We're in the midst of a serious financial crisis

And:
our entire economy is in danger.

And:
so banks and other financial institutions can avoid collapse

And:
It is aimed at preserving America's overall economy

And:
they faced imminent collapse.

And:
major sectors of America's financial system are at risk of shutting down.

And:
America could slip into a financial panic and a distressing scenario would unfold.

And:
millions of Americans could lose their jobs.

I don't like the guy. I've never liked the guy. I'll be glad to see him out of the White House.

But his speech was all right, last night.

He dared to say more than both Paulson and Bernanke combined about the calamity and its consequences.

Rex Hammock gives his take: What the President should have said: Blame me
