Chronicles Of Depression 2.0: #162

Alaskans suffer nation's highest gasoline prices
Think you're feeling pain at the gas pump? Consider the residents of Lime Village, Alaska, an isolated Denaina Athabascan Indian community where gasoline prices have hit $8.55 a gallon.

The price is severely curtailing movement around the interior Alaska village, where four-wheelers are sitting idle, said Ursula Graham, administrator for the Lime Village Traditional Council.

"Nobody's going on joy rides, that's for sure," Graham said.

Alaska, despite its status as a major crude oil producer, has the highest average gasoline prices of all U.S. states, according to the American Automobile Association. Alaska prices averaged $4.65 a gallon for regular gasoline on Friday, compared with a national average of $4.10, according to AAA.

Emphasis added by me.

Hey, Alaska. Heard of that newfangled Smart car?! (What am I saying?! They'll make the waiting line longer!!)

Mike, I too am having a depressing day.

I had held out so much hope for an oil Armageddon - only to see the opportunity frittered away by ethnic non-anglo governments.

I will miss you, ICE.

However, their is still hope for DOOM. We just have to wait a few years.

Thank God we have Quetzalcoatl. I hear its going to be a straight cosmic mega-kill on 60 degrees north latitude (heart of "Canada"), in every meaning of the word "Apocalypse".

Sigh. You can read my blog about it at http://bloggingtheendtimes.blogspot.com/

There is no hope yet.

P.S. It's mine, get away from it.
