Sony Tries To Do Right To Reader Pioneers

My Comment over at the JK on the Run post about Sony offering $100 trade-in value for their original model of Reader so people can upgrade to the new firmware (and new Reader!):
This is a bold move by Sony! If I had the original Reader, I'd go for it. You get better eInk, better casing, more memory, and the ability to now borrow eBooks from many local public libraries.

You think amazon would pull this [with] Kindle? Yeah, just ask all those stranded DRMed MobiPocket ebook buyers what amazon offered *them*.

Even though the Reader's lack of Mac support makes it dead to me, I still have to say: Go Sony Go!
